A password manager is software application that you install on your computer designed to store and manage your online credentials (e.g., usernames and passwords). It also generates secure passwords for you. Usually, these passwords are stored in an encrypted database and locked behind a single master password that you use to access all your accounts. Password managers can manage your usernames and passwords across all your devices (e.g., laptop, desktop, phone, tablet, etc.).
Antivirus software was designed to detect and mitigate malicious software that is targeting your computer. It’s good to have but it will not protect your computer from every malicious software threat because the threat actors are out maneuvering the antivirus software companies.
